1 cup dried kasha

1 3/4 cups water

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil

Optional toppings:

Sautéed mushrooms

Creamy dill dressing

Boil water with oil and salt in a pot. While water is boiling, toast kasha on a dry pan until fragrant about 3 minutes on medium heat. Add kasha to boiling water and stir, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Leave pot on lid and let sit for another ten minutes. Season more with salt and pepper if needed. I like to add sautéed mushrooms on top with creamy dill dressing!
